Since he first exploded onto the scene with his acclaimed debut mix CD Coastal Breaks in 1996, Adam Freeland has been an exciting force in dance music and far beyond.
The decision to ask him to put together a GU City series mix was an easy one. He’d been on our radar for years as one of the most innovative DJs in the world. Initially best known as one of the pioneers of breakbeat, his restlessness towards formulaic sounds of any type has seen him continually developing his style.
An ongoing passion for heavy doses of rock ‘n roll with his electronica have given Adam a unique sound and position within the DJ elite. Spending time living in LA and remixing the likes of Nick Cave and Marilyn Manson let him explore this even further.
Now he’s back in his native Brighton, UK, still heading up the excellent Marine Parade label and seeing his own music with his band, Freeland, make appearances in video games and movies, from Grand Theft Auto and The Sims to Spider Man 2.
